The Year 4 children were on camp last week at Phillip Island. Camp 1 and Camp 2 both enjoyed mild, calm weather at the Penguin Parade and were lucky that no activity was cancelled because of the weather during the week.

During each camp the children participated in a variety of activities, including: Trampolining, Low Ropes Course, Giant Swing, Mechanical Climbing Wall, Archery and the new and highly popular Pedal Racers. There were also some structured free time sessions when the souvenir shop was open, a game called ‘Gaga’ was played, and the children went to a playground followed by a walk along the Cowes foreshore.

The food was nourishing and plentiful. Nobody could be hungry after the meals provided by CYC – The Island. The children slept well, with very few homesickness concerns. An exciting evening was held on Night 2 for both camps – ‘OSPS Got Talent’. We were lucky to have 2 international judges fly in for this event; Boritz from Russia and Jessie J from the UK. On the way home, Camp 1 called in to the Phillip Island Wildlife Park and Camp 2 called in to the Antarctic Experience at The Nobbies.

It was a very busy and hectic time for us all – made all the more rewarding seeing the fun had and the milestones achieved by so many children over the course of the week. Thank you to the staff and students on a terrific camp!
