The Year 6 captains visited South Oakleigh Secondary College to participate in an Indigenous cooking experience to celebrate NAIDOC week. Miss Jessie Matheson showed us some indigenous herbs and plants growing around the college site, specifically warrigal greens and lemon myrtle and students then ventured into the college kitchen.

They were met by the Year 10 cafe catering students who were the assistants for the session. Lemon myrtle and white chocolate butter biscuits were on the menu with the Year 10 students helping students navigate the kitchen and follow the recipe. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and the results of our efforts were scrumptious!
