The Regional Cross Country championships are an annual event that is run at Ballam Park late in the third term. It is the final step before children reach State and an extremely competitive level of competition.
Oakleigh South qualified an amazing nine children to Regionals, with at least one child representing our school in each of the six age group/gender categories.

The course itself has a very challenging start, which narrows down very quickly and goes over a large drop before coming up a steep incline; all of this happens in the first kilometre. Even our most experienced runners find this start difficult.

We had some fantastic results, with three children qualifying for the State Championships, which will be held in Bundoora in the first week of Term 3. Well done to Jessica 5MB, Ori 5MB and Louisa 6FW who will be representing our school in a little under three weeks. A massive well done to all the children who worked so hard over the last few months to prepare themselves for the Cross Country Season, you are a credit to yourselves.
