We are thrilled to share two exciting updates from the Japanese department!

Firstly, on the 4th and 5th of March, we welcomed students from Nakamura University in Japan. These future teachers demonstrated Japanese culture to OSPS students, engaging them in activities such as Shuji (calligraphy), Origami, and Karuta (a traditional Japanese game).

Our Grade 6 students also enjoyed a Taiko incursion. As part of Oakleigh Education Plan, Huntingdale Primary School, South Oakleigh Secondary College, and Oakleigh South Primary School all participated in this event, offering students the chance to immerse themselves in Japanese culture. The Taiko performers were professional artists from Japan, who also showcased their talents at the Moomba festival this year.

We look forward to more amazing experiences in Japanese next term!
