Throughout Term 2, the Year 1’s explored common misconceptions and investigated Earth and Space Sciences as part of our Integrated Studies unit, ‘Flash Bang Fizz’. On Friday 21st June, we had an absolute blast at our eagerly awaited planetarium incursion. There were smiles all round when we first entered the Year 5 building to discover a huge inflatable dome set up. We excitedly squeezed through the entrance of the dome where we were transported to the night sky, full of millions of stars. We discussed day and night, explored many constellations and learnt some facts about the sun and the moon. Did you know the same side of the moon always faces Earth? We also found out which planets you can see from Earth and watched a cool animation film. It was a really cool experience our students will never forget.
