OSPS welcomes families from over 40 different backgrounds. In recognition of all the different cultures that make our school community so wonderful, we are inviting all students to dress up in costume that represents their culture or they may also choose to dress in the colour orange on Tuesday 19th March.
Why do we wear orange? Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day because traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and the encouragement of mutual respect. By wearing something orange you can show your support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
So come along to school on Tuesday 19th March wearing your colourful cultural dress or something orange. At our whole school assembly we will be celebrating our diverse cultures with amazing student performances. We all can’t wait to see our school community come alive in colour!
