It had only been two weeks since we took home the District title that we were back at Bald Hill Park and we were all excited for the next level of the Cross Country Championships: Division. Oakleigh South had qualified an amazing 25 children and we were all ready to run on the Tuesday until it was cancelled due to poor weather, eventually being reschedule for the Friday.
The day was a resounding success for our school and all of the children who ran did our school and themselves proud. We ended the day with 10 children qualified for the next stage at Ballam Park in a couple of weeks’ time. Considering the strength of our Division, to qualify more than double the next best schools result is something we should be extremely proud of. It was also fantastic that we managed to have a child qualify for each of the age levels (something we have not achieved for a number of years).
