Did you know that it is fledgling season? Right now baby birds are beginning to leave their nests and learning how to fly. If you see a fledgling on the ground, please remember to leave the baby bird alone. Parent birds are always nearby watching their babies.
This week the Aussie Bird Count is happening up until Sunday 20th October! You can help Australian scientists by going outside and recording all the birds you can see in your backyard or at your local park, and it only takes 10 minutes! Check out the Bird Life Aussie Bird Count website for more information https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/
This term the Sustainability Team would like to start a new challenge to help reduce litter at our school. Each Wednesday students, families and teachers will be encouraged to pack their lunchboxes without wrappers. Students who participate in the Lunch-Free Waste Challenge will earn house points for their team.
Thank you to all students at OSPS who have been helping us to care for the environment by putting rubbish in the bins and recycling their 10 cent bottles into our purple bins in the Year 3 Village. Keep up the terrific effort for a Sustainable future!
