We are excited to announce that Tamba Higashi Primary School from Japan will be visiting our school from July 30th to August 7th. A group of 12 primary students and 3 staff members will be joining us for a week filled with cultural exchange and fun activities. Let’s give them a warm welcome and make their visit memorable!
WELCOME TO MIZUKI
We are delighted to welcome Mizuki from Japan, who has joined our Japanese teaching team as a volunteer assistant from the third week of Term 2 until the end of next term. Mizuki’s enthusiasm and dedication are truly inspiring, and we are excited to have her as part of our school community. Please join us in making her feel at home and appreciated.
PARENT GROUP
INVITATION TO JOIN PARENT GROUP
Throughout the year, the OSPS Parent Group hosts a range of events, the most regular being our special food days, however, there are other events we facilitate such as the Mother’s Day stall, Movie Night, School Disco, Fete Canteen, Colour Run, Parent Night plus many more. Due to the popularity of these events, we try to deliver them as per the agreed calendar approved by school council, however, without volunteers, it becomes very challenging to offer some of these events to our students and families.
We are seeking more Parent Group volunteers and there are 2 categories of volunteering for Parent Group that you may be interested in:
PARENT GROUP MEMBER
Attends monthly meetings and helps with events.
We would like to invite volunteer members of our school community to join our Parent Group. Meetings are held once a month, however attending every meeting is not mandatory if other things come up and you are unable to attend. The only expectation is that members help with events when possible and also that all have a say in any discussions that arise.
PARENT GROUP HELPER
Helps with special food days or events.
We would like to invite volunteer helpers of our school community to be a Parent Group Helper. No meeting attendance is required, however, you can pop your name down to be a helper should the special food days (for any year level) and events when you can. You will be sent via e-mail the links to the helpers roster for all events/days we hold directly.
Parent Group events and days raise money for the school and are used to purchase and fund projects that benefit the school, programs and students. Most recently, Parent Group has purchased a chest freezer, bain marie for hot food and two defibrillators for the school. Parent Group has committed to funding the landscaping and seating area under the shade sails outside the Robotics Room, a project in its planning stages.
If you would like to join our Parent Group as a Member or Helper please feel free to reach out to our Parent Group at:
