About our Fete
The Oakleigh South Primary School Fete is the first Saturday in May – 2023 on Saturday 6th May from, 10am – 4pm.
So, what’s it all about? It’s a fun fair – scrumptious food stalls, fun activities, craft, café, music and entertainment, and of course, amusement rides. Everything for young and old, enjoy a great day out with the family or catch up with friends and enjoy happy times in a real party atmosphere.
The whole school is very proud of our fete – a chance to bring out the Oakleigh South spirit and put it on display for the whole community. It’s all about students, families, staff and friends working together to create a great time for everyone, and raise much needed funds to support our wonderful school programs and facilities. We hope to see you there!
I am proud to be the Principal of Oakleigh South Primary School. I began my association with the school as a teacher at the former Beryl Street site in 1987. The enrolment then was 109 and I have seen the school grow to approximately 1000 students. In 2000, we orchestrated the move to the school’s present site – the former Huntingdale High School. Our school is in a quiet area of Oakleigh South, with beautiful grounds nestled in between Metropolitan and Huntingdale Golf Courses.
We pride ourself in offering all students a wide range of success orientated opportunities in a safe and caring environment. We value and encourage high academic achievement with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, as a basis for all further learning, followed by developing the whole child in the areas of music, visual arts, sport and sustainability.
OAKLEIGH EDUCATION PLAN
Our school in partnership with South Oakleigh College and Huntingdale Primary School, is part of the Oakleigh Education Plan (OEP) Learning Precinct. The OEP is a four year joint approach to making sure every student has access to high-quality, seamless education. You can now visit our dedicated Oakleigh Education Plan web space, hosted on the South Oakleigh College website to learn more about the OEP and keep up to date with all the actions and activities across the OEP, including STEM and Japanese learning.
