PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
I hope you all had a lovely long weekend.
Tomorrow is Casual Clothes Day – with a $2 donation to help stock the Lucky Sticks, Lucky Ducks, Bucket Toss and Knock ’em Down stalls for Fete.
Well done to the children that represented our school at the Bentleigh Division Swimming Carnival last Friday. Everyone swam very well and should be congratulated on their performances and great sportsmanship.
Last week your child brought home the bright orange notice advertising the sale of the Early Bird Wristbands for our upcoming Fete in May. The wristbands can only be bought prior to the Fete and provide great value for money on the day. Children without a wristband will have to pay for the individual price of each ride on the day.
Today the Year 1 children enjoyed a very special morning with their grandparents. Our visitors enjoyed time in the classroom then were entertained with beautiful singing from the children. Thank you to the Parent Group who along with the Year 1 teachers organised refreshments and food for the Grandparents to enjoy.
Have a great week.

Principal

SCHOOL MATTERS

School Photos
School Photos will be taken on Thursday and Friday this week.
Please ensure you have completed your child’s photo envelope and returned to their class teacher by
Wednesday, 13th March.
If you would like Sibling photos to be taken, please collect an envelope from the Office, and return to the class teacher.

Tummy Bugs
There seems to be a “Gastric Bug” going around our school at present. Please be mindful if your child complains of tummy pains.
Symptoms may include:
stomach cramps / pains increasing in severity over a few days
low appetite or no appetite
headaches
loss of energy
vomiting – but not always
not feeling right – but can’t say why
These symptoms could last up to five days. Please keep your child at home and notify the school of their absence. You will need to keep your child at home until 24 hours after your child last stopped vomiting, had diarrhea or their appetite and energy levels have increased.
If a sibling has these symptoms – please keep an eye on other siblings as it is highly contagious.
This is a timely reminder that washing hands and not sharing cutlery, glasses / cups or towels in the household is very important in stopping the spread of viruses.
Casual Clothes Day
Tomorrow is a Casual Clothes Day
Please send your child dressed in casual clothes and bring a $2 coin donation.
If every child comes in casual clothes (remember to be sunsmart, no singlets, thongs or open toed shows) the Lucky Sticks, Lucky Ducks, Bucket Toss and Knock ‘em Down stalls will be well on their way to being fully stocked on Fete day.
Thank you very much.

Car Parking
Parents are NOT to use the Staff Car Park, or the disabled parks, regardless of the time of day. It is NOT to be used as a quick drop off or collection point.
This includes after Choir on a Wednesday
Please make sure you do your civic duty to follow the road laws and rules. This includes parking correctly in the signed areas, and completing 3 point turns in the middle in the intersection!
We also urge parents to please remember to be patient and polite when using the Oval Carpark, and be good role models for all the children witnessing their behaviour. With over 800 families, drop off and collection times will be busy and you will need to plan your time accordingly.
