A terrific addition to our school street profile is the new Oakleigh South Primary School sign that was installed this week. It is not yet finished, with landscaping and stonework to be completed next week. The sign was inspired by our natural surroundings, and we hope you’ll all have a chance to admire the final product. Thank you for the positive feedback we’ve received so far.

A reminder that Friday the 3rd of March will be a Curriculum Day. The staff will be completing first aid, asthma and anaphylactic training courses. Please make care arrangements for your children. Camp Australia OSHC is available pending enough children enrol in the program.

Thank you to Parent Group for hosting our first annual event, the outdoor cinema, presenting the movie, ‘SING!’. What a wonderful evening well supported by our community and the weather held out. The popcorn machine was in full action and other treats to purchase were enjoyed by around 250 people in attendance.

Enjoy your weekend.

Mr Ron Cantlon

Children who arrive before 8.30am on school days MUST be supervised by a parent or guardian. We allow 15 minutes for children and parents to make their way to the classrooms before doors open at 8.45am. Children are not to play games or on equipment before school. There have been several children arriving well before 8.30am without parents or guardians.

Camp Australia runs our Out of School Hours Care from 7.00am so if your family requires care before 8.30am, please feel free to contact this service. Please click here for Camp Australia Information

School Payments

This year we will continue to use QKR as our preferred payment method.  We ask that you use QKR when making payments for all your school accounts – this includes Essential Learning Fees, Excursion, Incursions and any other charges to come up through the year.

Charges are child specific, so please make sure you select the correct child and year level when making payments. If the incorrect child is showing, tap their name at the top, and select the correct child from the pop up box.

Library Fund Donations cannot be made via Qkr, but they can be made at the Office or via Bpay. Please contact Karen Hall if you use the Bpay option. hall.karen.a@edumail.vic.gov.au

If you have any questions regarding QKR, please contact the office.

OSPS Unofficial Facebook Groups

A number of parent volunteers of OSPS have created unofficial Facebook private groups for each year level and a main Facebook page for all grades. So you’ll never forget that sausage sizzle again! The parent volunteers are administrators or moderators of these facebook groups. These private facebook groups are not official facebook groups of OSPS. The posts and comments are not previously endorsed by the school and the groups are not monitored by the school. However, the volunteer parents who are administrators and moderators have met and collectively and decided to implement the following strategies keep the pages positive and increase participation by:

  • establishing common guidelines that insist on being respectful and positive
  • checking that all members are parents of that year level
  • increasing participation by advertising the links (currently 50% of parents are on these group pages)

OSPS is pleased to support the new guidelines and initiatives as reported by the administrators and moderators. Please see links below to each page. Thank you and best wishes to our parent volunteers.
