The Year 5’s had a terrific time on their camp to Sovereign Hill last week. It was a perfect culmination of activities and experiences at the end of their unit of work on the 1800’s.
This week the new Robotics Hub is being officially opened. A variety of activities during school hours and out of school hours are being held throughout the week. We welcome our students, families and friends to the following activities!
Tuesday 10th Dec
6pm – Digital Technologies Expo
7pm – THINKUKNOW Cybersafety – Parent Information Night
Wednesday 11th Dec
3.30pm – Digital Technologies Expo
Thank you to Evert Eykman and Rico Virtuoso for all your tireless work on preparing the Robotics Hub!
Today most of the Year 6’s are at their secondary school’s transition day. Some Year 6’s have already had their transition day or one may be coming up. We wish you all the best as you have a taste for secondary school life.
Thank you to Parent Group for organising the annual Christmas Stall which is running today and tomorrow, please remember to BYO bag to carry the gifts home.
Next week is the last week of term, House Swimming carnival is on Monday, Year 6 Graduation on Tuesday and I’m sure all students are looking forward to their end of year festivities and activities.
Have a great week.

SUPERVISION AND PARKING
Parking
A reminder to parents and carers are NOT to use the Staff Car Park, or the disabled parks, regardless of the time of day. It is NOT to be used as a quick drop off or collection point.
This includes after Choir on a Wednesday
Please make sure you do your civic duty to follow the road laws and rules. This includes parking correctly in the signed areas, and completing 3 point turns in the middle in the intersection!
We also urge parents to please remember to be patient and polite when using the Oval Carpark, and be good role models for all the children witnessing their behaviour. With over 800 families, drop off and collection times will be busy and you will need to plan your time accordingly.
Please click here for further parking information oakleighsouthps.vic.edu.au/about-us/#parking
Supervision
Yard duty before school commences at 8:45 am.
After school teachers are in the grounds until 3:45 pm. Students on school grounds outside these times will not be supervised (unless they attending a before or after school care program or supervised extracurricular activity).
Parents/carers are requested to ensure that students do not arrive early or stay late after school unless they are attending before or after school care, or a pre-arranged supervised activity (i.e. running club).

STUDENT SHOWCASE

Year 6 Camp
We all held our breath as Olivia and Jazmin walked off the edge and plunged to their inevitable deaths. Just kidding! We had arrived at the abseiling cliff and could barely contain our excitement. Actually, all of the activities generated the same response.
Our experience at Norval Lodge Adventure Camp in Halls Gap was one of the best events of our jam packed year. The food, the accommodation and everything in between surpassed our expectations!
We know we speak on behalf of all Year 6 students when we say we would definitely return. Not only was it the best camp we’ve been to, but it was also an amazing way to finish up our final year of primary school with our friends and teachers.
Thank you to everyone who made this sensational experience possible.
Amelia & Rithi – 6SM
