The last week of term has been all systems go as the Year 6 production began on Monday with a sensational opening night. The wonderful performances continued on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to crowds that couldn’t believe their eyes. The professionalism of the productions are a credit to everyone involved, the children teachers and parents who all helped to make ‘Seussical Jr’ an outstanding show. A huge thank you to everyone who helped from start to finish.

Last Thursday the Preps and Year 1 classes celebrated the many wonderful cultures of our school during their Multicultural Day. The children and teachers dressed in their national dress and brought lots and lots of scrumptious food from their countries (thank you to the mums, dads and grandparents for an amazing selection of food). Everyone had a fantastic day.

Finally it’s hard to believe that we have reached the end of term 3. Remember to keep on reading and do your Mathletics and Reading Eggs whenever you can. Have a restful break whether you are at home or away on holidays.

Have fun and stay safe.

OSPS Colour Run

Get ready for a blast of colour. We’re turning our event from bland to GRAND with an explosion of colour this year.

We’re excited to participate in the School Run4Fun Colour Explosion on the 13 November 2018. It’s the colour craze that’s sweeping the nation™.

Students have now been supplied with a Sponsorship Form and it’s time to fundraise! How exciting!

Students who raise as little as $10 will receive a prize for their efforts, but why not aim higher? The more money we raise the more we can provide back to the students to.

Sign up now at www.myprofilepage.com.au and create your child a Profile Page.

Use the unique code on page five (5) of the Sponsorship Form and see if you’ve won FREE sponsorship donations. The highest fundraising student in our school will also go into a draw to win a huge Apple Prize Pack. Happy fundraising!

Multiple fun on Multicultural Day!

On Thursday 13th September the Preps and Year 1’s celebrated cultural diversity within our classes and the world. Student’s dressed up in traditional costumes or colours that represented a country’s flag. The day began in the hall with a special Bollywood dance performance by some of our talented junior school students. Afterwards each class paraded around, waving their country’s flag and dancing to Mr Savva’s songs from around the world! This was a fantastic opportunity for classes to show off their outfits! The hall looked like a colour explosion with students representing over 30 different countries, including Greece, Australia, Italy, France, India and China to name a few!

Later in the day the Year 1’s indulged in traditional cuisines. Every student was required to bring in a small dish from their chosen country. This enabled us to taste a variety of traditional and customary foods! Students stepped out of their comfort zones to try new foods such as homemade Keftedakia and Spanakopita from Greece, dumplings and moon cake from China, samosas and pappadums from India, piroshky from Ukraine and pavlova from New Zealand.

Students learnt a lot about their chosen countries. They have enjoyed follow up activities that have expressed their excitement and great memories of the day. A huge thank you to all students and their families for the magnificent effort put into costumes and food dishes.

Dear Parents,

These school holidays we are hosting a very special school holiday program called Code Camp where your child can learn to code and build their very own iPhone or Android app!

Code Camp has already taught more than 35,000 students in Australia and is a great way to spend time over the holidays as kids have lots of fun with friends while learning important new skills such as  logic, creativity, problem solving, app development and game building in a fun and engaging way, ready to take on the digital world of the future.

Every child attending a holiday camp will build incredible games on our software platform ‘’Code Camp World’’ and walk away with their very own app, playable via the Code Camp App store that they can take home to share with family and friends!

There are 4 Code Camp Camps:
We have created 4 different camps so kids continue to learn new skills with each camp they attend.

Little League (School Grades K-1)
Suitable for Beginners
Our little coders make their first small but important leap from consumers to creators of tech. Build awesome mini-games and learn about coding using a mixture of iPad and physical based learning.

Spark (School Grades 2-6)
Beginners + Intermediate
Fun, engaging and challenging… and are our most known Code Camp that over 12,000 students have completed. Code Camp Spark is where every student in years 2-6 should start their Code Camp journey.

Ignite (School Grades 2-6)
Intermediate + Advanced
If you have completed Spark check out Code Camp Ignite! Students build on their skills and create new apps with increasingly complex logic, more code, behaviours and problem solving. Start with Drag & Drop and then move to Line Coding with JavaScript.

Blast 3D (School Grades 3-7)
Advanced Students Only
Brand new for 2018, your kids will immerse themselves in a 3D world of their creation! Unlock the next level of their coding adventure at Code Camp Blast 3D.
