PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Last night we welcomed our 2020 Prep families to the Welcome BBQ which was run by our amazing Parent Group. Many families enjoyed this fantastic evening it was a great opportunity for the new prep children to interact with their new prep friends and for the adults to make new friends. The children had a great time playing and joining in with Faery Emma.

Congratulations to our 2019 student leaders who received their badges at assembly yesterday. I wish you all the best in your positions of leadership at OSPS.

Tonight years 3 – 6 will be having their information night starting at 6pm. It’s a great idea to pop along to find out what’s happening and how things are done in each year level for the coming year.

This Friday night the Parent Group will be having their annual ‘Cinema Under the Stars’ event. It will be held under the covered court area. Tickets are available to pre-purchase on Trybooking by Thursday, February the 13th. It’s always a fantastic family get together.

Have a great week.

Principal

A reminder to parents and carers are NOT to use the Staff Car Park, or the disabled parks, regardless of the time of day. It is NOT to be used as a quick drop off or collection point.

This includes after Choir on a Wednesday

Please make sure you do your civic duty to follow the road laws and rules. This includes parking correctly in the signed areas, and completing 3 point turns in the middle in the intersection!

We also urge parents to please remember to be patient and polite when using the Oval Carpark, and be good role models for all the children witnessing their behaviour. With over 800 families, drop off and collection times will be busy and you will need to plan your time accordingly.

1.  Followed the CareMonkey link and completed your child’s CareMonkey Profile.
A number of year levels now have events, and without a completed profile, permission has not been given for your child to attend.

2.  Updated your child’s Class and Year level for 2020 on Qkr. Please ensure you have registered your child, not yourself.

3.  ONLY pay for items you have received CareMonkey notices for, and are showing on your statement.

Items will still show in the Qkr menu until the event window closes, even if you have paid.
Essential Learning Fees and Voluntary Contributions will show all for the whole year.

You can check your Qkr receipts by clicking on the “Activity” tab at the top of the first Qkr screen.

If you are unsure whether you have paid for something please contact the Office on 9570 1016 BEFORE making a payment.

If you wish to have Parent B added to CareMonkey please email caremonkey@oakleighsouthps.vic.edu.au,  stating the name and email address of the Parent to be added, your child’s name and class.

Also, please remember to take a screen shot of your child’s action plan for Asthma, Anaphylaxis or Allergy, an upload it to CareMonkey.

School Banking

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

In line with our new treetop theme, we have decided to 🌳 GO GREEN 🌳and stop issuing plastic tokens each week.  Instead, we will place a number on the back of each deposit receipt, which will represent the number of deposits your child has made.  Once you’ve qualified for a reward, we will let you know.

This will reduce plastic waste, and will also eliminate issues we have had in the past with kids not having enough tokens (due to borrowing brother/ sister tokens, or one of the banking volunteers making a mistake and giving out extra).

You can track your child’s deposit count at any time by installing the Comm Bank Youth App or by checking your child’s receipt butts.

Please support us during this transition.  If you have any queries, please pop a note in your child’s banking wallet.

New Parent Packs have also been sent home via the classroom this week

This term’s rewards are The Terry Denton Activity book 📗 and the Mini Soccer Ball ⚽️

Thank you
