Congratulations to our 2019 leaders who received their badges at assembly today. I wish you all the best in your positions of leadership at OSPS.

Car Parking

Parents are NOT to use the Staff Car Park, or the disabled parks, regardless of the time of day. It is NOT to be used as a quick drop off or collection point.

This includes after Choir on a Wednesday

Please make sure you do your civic duty to follow the road laws and rules. This includes parking correctly in the signed areas, and completing 3 point turns in the middle in the intersection!

We also urge parents to please remember to be patient and polite when using the Oval Carpark, and be good role models for all the children witnessing their behaviour. With over 800 families, drop off and collection times will be busy and you will need to plan your time accordingly.

Supervision Before and After School

Our classrooms open at 8.45am and children who arrive before then MUST be supervised by a parent or guardian. We allow 15 minutes for children and parents to make their way to the classrooms before doors open at 8.45am. Children are not to play games or on equipment before school. There have been several children arriving well before 8.30am without parents or guardians.

If you are delayed and cannot be at school for 3.30pm pick up, please contact the Office as soon as you are aware of this delay, so the classroom teacher can be notified, and appropriate arrangements for your child’s care can be made. Any child requiring supervised care beyond 3.40pm must be booked into aftercare.

Camp Australia runs our Out of School Hours Care from 7.00am so if your family requires care before 8.30am, please feel free to contact this service. Please click here for Camp Australia Information

Parking Congestion Petition

Child Safety. Traffic congestion at drop off & pick up times at OSPS presents a clear and obvious danger to the students of OSPS and the local community.

There is increasing concern about the clear and present danger to the students of OSPS and the local community. The roads and parking congestion create unnecessary risk to child safety.

If you agree to make it safer to get to and from Oakleigh South Primary School, please sign this petition to request action be taken by Vic Roads, local and state government and lobby for funding for school car park improvements. A copy of the petition is available at the office for signing, or the online petition

Thanks in anticipation of your support.

First term Japanese for Preps and Grade 1’s has got off to a flying start!

Grade 1’s quickly settled back into the class routine and impressed with their recall of all the material learned during the previous year. The next few weeks will be very exciting as we begin exploring Japanese Hiragana script, extending on conversational language and exploring the many arts and crafts offered by Japanese culture.
