PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

How things can change in a week! Last week we were looking forward to the Grade 4 production going ahead, this week we are in lockdown!

With the announcement today of a further 7 days in lockdown, we are certainly facing a day by day proposition of the future. I hope that everyone is safe and well and coping the best you can under very trying and difficult circumstances. If you have any questions at all about your child’s Google Classroom, please contact their teacher. Thank you for your continued support as we get through another ‘remote learning’ time together.

We are very happy to have the Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) program commencing in Prep this term. The TLI program is structured on differentiation, personalisation and student-centred learning. As it only has 4-6 students per group, student outcomes are greatly improved. The children will start this week via a Zoom meeting.

Stay safe, stay well and stay warm and I hope to see you all next week.

Ron

Principal

STUDENT SHOWCASE

Year 4 – 6 Forensic Science Incursion

Our Year 4, 5 and 6 students had the opportunity to take part in an exciting and engaging incursion on Forensic Science with Education Interactive. Our school hall was transformed into a crime scene and evidence lab. The students enjoyed engaging, hands-on experiences that covered a broad range of the science curriculum and general educational points. This included a speaker talking to our students about when and how they should report a crime.

Our students acted as both forensic scientists and detectives that enhanced their creative and critical thinking skills. They also analysed the forensic evidence and pieced together the case, by rotating through different evidence stations.

Look at our excited, engaged scientists exploring and analysing the evidence!
