Last Friday a very successful House Athletics Carnival was held at Duncan McKinnon Reserve. It was wonderful to see all students enjoying their day and trying their best. A huge thank you to Marcus and all staff and parent volunteers who made the day possible.
Wacky Wednesday was a huge success last week. The Prep and Year 1s looked fantastic in their costumes representing Dr.Seuss and Wacky Wednesday. Each class enjoyed the parade on stage in the hall with their ‘Wacky’ teachers! Congratulations to the all the teachers, students and parents who contributed to the morning.
Last week we signed off for the development of our new Robotics lab which will be manufactured and delivered to site between the 16th and 21st of September with the likely completion date hopefully being October 10th. This is an exciting time for the school to have a dedicated room for Robotics, Code Club and the various other activities run throughout the community.
The Year 4 team have been hard at work rehearsing for their production, ‘The Music Man Kids’. The school is presenting 3 shows from July 23rd – 25th. Tickets will go on sale shortly, please stay tuned.
A reminder of the importance that students continue to read and do your Mathletics over the holidays. It is helpful to allocate a small amount of time over the holidays to improve your child’s education and complement the work we do here at OSPS.
Have a safe and enjoyable break.

The Japanese Team
2020 prep enrolments are filling up quickly. We know that there are still some current parents with younger children who are wanting to attend Oakleigh South Primary next year, and we ask that you submit your 2020 Prep enrolment paperwork before the end of this term to secure a place.
Enrolment forms are available on the school website http://oakleighsouthps.vic.edu.au/enrolments/
Parents are NOT to use the Staff Car Park, or the disabled parks, regardless of the time of day. It is NOT to be used as a quick drop off or collection point.
This includes after Choir on a Wednesday
Please make sure you do your civic duty to follow the road laws and rules. This includes parking correctly in the signed areas, and completing 3 point turns in the middle in the intersection!
We also urge parents to please remember to be patient and polite when using the Oval Carpark, and be good role models for all the children witnessing their behaviour. With over 800 families, drop off and collection times will be busy and you will need to plan your time accordingly.

Term 3 Update
Thank you for an AMAZING term of savings! We’ve seen some big deposits this term, which generally means that students are saving rather than spending which is AWESOME!!
Just some reminders about our program:
ONE DEPOSIT PER WEEK ONLY – unfortunately we cannot backdate deposits nor can we enter more than one deposit into the school’s online banking system per week. Should you miss a week, send it along and we will add your deposits together to form one amount. This will count as one deposit only and therefore only one token will be given.
PLEASE COMPLETE DEPOSIT SLIP AND STUB – no slip, no deposit will be accepted. We need the amount on the slip to verify against the money given. THIS IS YOUR RECEIPT.
PLEASE DON’T COMBINE SIBLINGS TOKENS – we cannot process a reward request unless each individual child has sent in 10 deposits.
It’s not too late to join us!
Getting involved in School Banking is easy!
All you need to get involved in the School Banking program is a Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver account. You can open an account for your child in one of two ways:
Visit commbank.com.au/schoolbanking and click on the link to open a Youthsaver account.
- In branch
Visit a Commonwealth Bank branch with identification for yourself and your child, like a driver’s licence and birth certificate.
If you would like to know more about School Banking, please ask for a 2019 School Banking program information pack from the school office or visit commbank.com.au/schoolbanking
New School Banking rewards now available!
Exciting new Term 3 Polar Savers rewards are now available, while stocks last!
Arctic Owl Fluffy Keyring ScratchArt Cards
For every deposit made at school students will receive a silver Dollarmites token. Once students have individually collected 10 tokens they can redeem them for exclusive School Banking reward items in recognition of their regular savings habits. There are two new items released each term so be sure to keep an eye out for them!

School Banking day is MONDAY, except on weeks of public holidays/ development days when banking will not run for that week.
Each week you need to bring your wallet containing cash and your COMPLETED deposit slip and hand it to your classroom teacher before the 9am bell. You must provide your child’s account number otherwise we cannot process your deposit.
Banking is processed at the school. Please note we cannot provide account balances or account numbers. This information should be sought from your bank.
