PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Today the Year 3 and 5 children began their NAPLAN testing. Today’s tasks were Writing and Language Conventions. Tomorrow they will participate in Reading and finishing with Mathematics on Thursday. I wish everyone well in these tests. The results will be available later in the year.
Woolworths earn and learn is well on its way and many completed sticker sheets are coming to school. This program will run until the end of the term, so keep collecting the stickers so we can exchange them for fantastic resources for our school. Thank you.
I’d like to explain further why the new playground was removed. The timing of the successful robotics lab grant was after the playground was installed. After careful thought into the most suitable site for the lab, with consideration to minimising overall cost, sensible use of land and minimal impact to school activities, this area was the best option. The playground will be rebuilt after the lab is installed.
Have a great week.
Ron Cantlon
Principal

SCHOOL MATTERS

Woolworths Earn and Learn is Back!!
Let’s stick together and make this year our biggest yet!
From Wednesday 1st May to Tuesday 25th June 2019 or while stock lasts, when you shop at Woolworths you can collect Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers from the checkout operator, via team members at the self service checkout or through an online order and place them on a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet.
There will be one Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker for every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco, and gift cards). Once completed, simply place the Sticker Sheet in the Collection Box, either at your school or at your local Woolworths.
So, let’s collect and stick so we can get lots of fantastic resources for our school!

Qkr Payments
Qkr! continues to be our preferred method of payment for school accounts, and to make things easier for parents, class teachers and the Office, we have some changes to the Qkr! proccess this year.
Qkr will now open on a Wednesday, and after a 2 week payment window, close at 4.30pm on a Wednesday.
If you miss this payment window, or pay using BPAY, Credit Card or CSEF, you will need to complete the orange form, available from your Classroom Teacher, for processing via the Classroom Cash Book.
Please ensure you have registered your children for this year, checking you have selected the correct year level and class.
If you have any queries or any issues accessing your Qkr account please email Sarah Van Deursen vandeursen.sarah.e@edumail.vic.gov.au with the following details, so we can follow up with our Qkr account mamanger:
* User’s email address registered with Qkr
* User’s mobile number in Qkr
* First name and surname of one or more of the user’s children.

Car Parking
Parents are NOT to use the Staff Car Park, or the disabled parks, regardless of the time of day. It is NOT to be used as a quick drop off or collection point.
This includes after Choir on a Wednesday
Please make sure you do your civic duty to follow the road laws and rules. This includes parking correctly in the signed areas, and completing 3 point turns in the middle in the intersection!
We also urge parents to please remember to be patient and polite when using the Oval Carpark, and be good role models for all the children witnessing their behaviour. With over 800 families, drop off and collection times will be busy and you will need to plan your time accordingly.

STUDENT SHOWCASE

Autumn Family Fete
Once again our Fete was a huge success and it was wonderful to see our community working together to achieve such great results, even with the weather conditions not being as great as previous years.
The Fete would not be possible without our most generous sponsors and donors from local businesses and businesses from afar, friends and families. Thank you to our many special guests, community stalls and performance groups. Without your contribution the day would not have been possible. We hope to see you next year.
We also need to acknowledge our teaching and office staff for their dedication leading up to the Fete and on the day, especially to our Fete Coordinator Nikki Virtuoso and her amazing team of volunteer Fete Team parents.
Thank you to the many parents and volunteers who gave up their time before, during and after the fete to help in various ways. It is also wonderful to see many of our ex-parents and students offer assistance on or before the day.
The final figure was is yet to be finalised however it is still looking terrific considering the weather.
Photo gallery is a snap shot of some of our Fete day!
We hope to see you next year! Thank you everyone!

Mums Supporting Families In Need
MSFIN (Mums Supporting Families In Need) are in need of winter coats.
If you have any adult or kids coats and they are still in good condition, please drop them off to the office when we return to school.
This is an amazing agency who does incredible things for people in need. We would love to continue to support them.
