A huge congratulations to the Year 4 children, teachers and parents who produced two outstanding nights of entertainment when they performed the Aristocats Kids on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. To witness these young children acting, singing and dancing like seasoned professionals was very heart warming. Their hours of rehearsals have paid off to present a very polished show and along with their parents, I felt very proud of them. Congratulations once again to everyone involved in this marvellous production.

On Wednesday, we welcomed our excited visitors from Tamba Higashi Primary School in Japan. Twelve students and three teachers will be spending a week with us learning about Australian school life and culture. Thank you to the host families who are caring for the Japanese children and to everyone involved to make this wonderful experience possible.

Last Friday, our Preps celebrated their 100 days of school in fine fashion. Each class were involved in special ‘100’ themed activities and finished of the day with a party. At next week‘s assembly the Preps will be performing their 100 day songs for everyone.

A friendly reminder to be respectful to our neighbours, we have a great relationaship with our neighbours. We’ve had reports of increased littering in front yards / nature strips and cars parked in driveways! Please make sure your family and friends are doing the right thing.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ron Cantlon

Parent Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents at each school.

It is designed to assist our school in gaining an understanding of parents’ perception of school climate, student engagement and relationships with our parent community. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. The survey will be conducted online by ORIMA Research Pty Ltd and only takes 15 minutes to complete. The survey can be accessed via desktop computer, laptop, tablet or mobile at any convenient time within the fieldwork period from Monday 7th August to Sunday 27th August.

Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous.

The online survey is available in English, Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (Hakha) and Hindi.

The survey results will be reported back to our school at the end of September.  The survey results will be communicated to parents through the annual report.

For further information, please speak to Jo Chapple at the office or visit: https://www.education.vic.gov.au/school/teachers/management/improvement/Pages/performsurveyparent.aspx

A friendly reminder to parents that the Essential Learning Fees and school expenses are due.

If you have any queries or concerns regarding payment, please contact Jo Chapple on 9570 1016.

Last Friday the 28th of July the junior corridor was all abuzz with excitement as the Preps attended their 100th Day at School. They had been counting down to this wonderful milestone all year and spent the day taking part in many 100 related activities celebrating all they have achieved since their first day. Children pondered what they would buy with $100 and what they would like to achieve before turning 100, coming up with some very enlightening responses.

Before I turn 100 I want to:

“own an eagle and be a plumber like Dad.” Harley – Prep SR

“win a big trophy and own a collection of insects.” Jiho – Prep AS

“be a McDonalds helper.” Rafael – Prep JF

“be a doctor so I can help people.” Paris – Prep AP

“become a vet, visit Italy and live a happy life!” Gracie – Prep SM

Congratulations Preps on the persistence, resilience and excellence you have displayed in your first 100 days. We look forward to more fabulous days of learning and fun over the remainder of the year. Everyone is welcome to help acknowledge the Preps 100 days of learning at the next school assembly where they will entertain us with some special songs. See you there on the 8th of August at 2.40!
