PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Welcome back everyone to another school year and an especially big welcome to our new Prep children and new children starting at Oakleigh South. We are all looking forward to another fantastic year of learning, friendships and fun.

Over the holidays there has been lots of building works happening with the staffroom extension and the junior playground both nearing completion. The junior playground looks absolutely fantastic and the comments from the children are, “I can’t wait to play with my ball on the grass. No more mud and puddles! And I love the running track on the outside.” These are only a few comments as the excitement is apparent from them all.

As many of you already know from my Tiqbiz message, we had major flooding during the break in the Year 4 Learning Centre and the Library. Both of these areas should be carpeted and in full use sometime next week. Thank you to everyone’s patience during this time.

Please remember to down load the Tiqbiz app to your phone, tablet or PC as it is now used as a major communicator of reminders and messages. I realise at the end of the year the notifications were constantly beeping you whilst our website upgrade was occurring, however this has now been fixed by the IT personnel.

Finally, it has come to my attention that many children are being dropped off at school more than one hour before the bell rings. This is definitely not allowed as there is no one here to supervise them and the teachers are in their classrooms preparing for the school day. If you have to drop your children off early they must enrol into before school care. Please contact Camp Australia to arrange this on 1300 105 343.

Enjoy the weekend.

Principal
